Crossing the Country for a Cause: How Our Team Stepped Up for Childhood Cancer

We set out with a simple daily goal: move more, get active, and support a cause that touches so many lives. What started as individual steps quickly turned into a massive collective milestone for our team.

Here is a look at what we accomplished together during our recent step challenge:

4,203,734 Steps

Our team logged a grand total of 4,203,734 steps. To put that monumental effort into perspective, that equals roughly 1,990 miles.

To picture just how far that is:

• Alpharetta, GA to Sacramento, CA: We virtually walked across the entire United States, spanning coast to coast.
• Alpharetta, GA to Las Tejenerías, Venezuela: Our collective distance stretches all the way into South America.

Whether it was early morning neighborhood walks, stepping away from the desk for mid-day strolls, or logging extra miles on the weekend, every single step added up to an incredible distance.

This day is not just a day of vendors showing up and Builders/Customers coming in to look around…..

Behind every seamless event are months of dedicated preparation. Planning for this year’s Builder Technology Summit began back in February—a journey of strategy, scheduling, and meticulous coordination. Hosted by BDT, the summit proved to be an absolute success from the opening moments to the final hour of our networking reception.

We were thrilled to host 24 elite vendor partners, each showcasing the cutting edge of industry technology to our builders and clients. The experience began right at the entrance, where guests were greeted by Emily, Josh, and Carmina, and treated to a live demonstration of our new Builder Security Station—brought to life through the incredible hard work of Alan and the ZUUM team.

From there, guests embarked on an immersive journey through a fully integrated home environment. Moving from the lobby and kitchen into the dedicated outdoor living space, and through four distinct rooms of high-end audio/video, attendees discovered new innovations and discussed their favorite solutions. The day was further enriched by exclusive breakout sessions hosted by industry leaders, including Coastal Source, Bang & Olufsen, eero, Sony, and Sonos.

Exceptional hospitality anchored the entire day, with Jennifer C. ensuring the refreshments were seamless, our outside sales team engaging guests, and Brian P. providing flawless technical support. At 4:00 PM, the energy subtly shifted from professional collaboration to a relaxed, vibrant celebration, punctuated by an exclusive tasting experience courtesy of Don Cosme Tequila.

Phoenix Systems hosted a large crowd of SVS speaker lovers for the first Georgia live Sound Revolution event! With 3 “Experience Zones” that demo’d a variety of speaker and amp varieties, it was a LIVE hosted event and you can view it here: VIEW THE EVENT

Our own Josh O’Neal had the scissors to cut the ribbon for O’Dwyer’s newest home in Lawrenceville.   Phoenix donated pre-wiring and a 2GIG system to show our support as a vendor partner.  All proceeds from the sale of this home directly benefit CURE Childhood Cancer.

This O’Dwyer Homes project is more than craftsmanship—it’s a blueprint for hope that generates critical funding for childhood cancer research and family support.

This holiday season, the Phoenix Systems team came together to support our neighbors across the Southeast. We were honored to partner with Dream Weavers of Georgia to turn wishes into reality; our team personally selected and wrapped gifts from our office “Giving Tree” to ensure local children had a magical Christmas morning.

Our commitment to the community extended across all our regional hubs through a multi-state food drive supporting:

• Nashville, TN: Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee
• Charleston, SC: Lowcountry Food Bank
• Orlando, FL: Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
• Georgia: Never Alone

To wrap up the month, we held our annual One Warm Coat drive, delivering winter wear to help our neighbors stay safe and warm. We are so proud of our team’s generosity and the opportunity to support these incredible organizations.

Ground-breaking celebration by O’Dwyer Homes for CURE Childhood Cancer. Phoenix Team Members represented as a proud vendor for security (Alarm.com, 2GIG) and networking for this home at the Collection at Wolf Creek in Lawrenceville, GA. All profits made from the sale of this home will be donated to Cure for research—bringing hope to brave families facing childhood cancer.

Phoenix Systems Builder Development Team Members Josh O’Neal and Emily Mills were honored and humbled to attend the PulteGroup‘s Built to Honor home recipient, US Army Sgt. Aisha Hardemon. We thank our vendors that helped us in donating smart home products for us to install and integrate. Security panel from IQ Security Products with Security by Alarm.com, Audio surround sound by Origin Acoustics with Sony Receiver, eero WAPS, and of course the labor and many parts used for install by our Team members at Phoenix Systems.

Ms. Hardemon was given the key to her new home by Pulte CEO, Ryan Marshal and VP of Purchasing, Matt Farbe. The Community, Hawthorne Ridge in McDonough, GA showcases new single family homes with family-friendly amenities.

The pencils are sharpened and the backpacks are ready – almost! As the new school year approaches, our team in Georgia is dedicated to ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed. We recently partnered with local charities, including North Fulton Community Charities, for a staff-wide drive that collected backpacks and school supplies for kids in our community.

Thank you to all who made our summer blood drive with the Red Cross a success! With the pints collected, 36 lives were potentially saved. Donated blood is utilized for various medical purposes, such as treating trauma, supporting major surgeries and organ transplants, assisting with illnesses, and helping patients undergoing treatments like chemotherapy.

Pulte’s Built to Honor program thanks returning military personnel who have been injured during their service by providing mortgage-free homes to veterans and their families.
